  • Back to School Night Grades 9 & 12, September 28, 2017
    This is an invitation to parents to visit the school and meet classroom teachers.
    Co-Chairs: Coordinate/purchase and set-up refreshments for the evening. Contact Ann Sobine in Main Office arranging set-up and recruiting help from National Honors Society.
  • Back to School Night Grades 10 & 11, October 5, 2017
    This is an invitation to parents to visit the school and meet classroom teachers.
    Co-Chairs: Coordinate/purchase and set-up refreshments for the evening. Contact Ann Sobine in Main Office arranging set-up and recruiting help from National Honors Society.
  • Balloons in June
    This is a Junior Class fundraiser selling balloons for the graduating class.
    Co-Chairs: Coordinate major fundraising effort involving sales, organization of personal messages, inflating balloons, routing and deliveries throughout town. Must be organized and comfortable working with spreadsheets and large group of volunteers.
    Committee: Assists in delivering balloons and as needed, other aspects of this fundraiser.
  • Charter Day Art Show
    Chair: Works with Art Department and coordinates volunteers to transport and hang RHS student artwork for Charter Day Art Show in May.
    Committee: Transports and hangs student artwork.
  • Class Parents
    For Freshman and Junior parents. This is a two-year commitment.
    Two parents per grade to work with faculty advisors on fundraisers for their respective grade. Responsible for communicating parent concerns for their respective grade to the PTO Co-Presidents. Attends monthly Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting with the Principal to discuss high school issues.
  • Distribution of School Pictures for Grades 9-11
    Co-Chairs: Coordinates distribution of school pictures during lunches.
    Committee: Distributes school pictures during lunches.
  • General Volunteers
    Called on throughout the year for assistance as needed per grade!
  • Graduation Announcements
    Chair: Coordinate ordering and distribution of graduation announcements. This job mainly involves communication with the vendor, which occurs in November for selection, in March for ordering, and in June for distribution.
  • Hospitality: Teacher Holiday Luncheon, December Event
    Co-Chairs: Coordinate food, decorations, and volunteers for December luncheon.
    Committee: Baking, set-up, clean-up, and assistance during luncheon.
  • Hospitality: Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, May Event
    Co-Chairs: Coordinate food, decorations, and volunteers for May luncheon.
    Committee: Baking, set-up, clean-up, and assistance during luncheon.
  • Junior Prom: Off-site Event
    Co-Chairs: Coordinate evening event with Junior Class faculty advisors and officers.
    Committee: Sells tickets to event and assists chairs with decorating on the day of the prom.
  • PTO Directory Production 
    This committee works with AtoZ to provide information to printer for paper directory and give access to new families, as needed. Work begins in late July and ends with Back to School Nights.
    Co-Chairs: Input and revise data to previous year’s directory and coordinate layout and production.
    Committee: Proofreads and confirms data in directory.
  • PTO Membership 
    Co-Chairs: Collect, track and keep record of membership dues and donations received via PayPal and by check from August to early October. Coordinate volunteers for printed directory distribution. Oversee student voting in spring for cover of following year’s student directory.
    Committee: Assists with printed directory distribution on Back to School Nights.
  • PTO Directory Advertising Chair
    Chair: Obtains advertisers for the printed and online directories using PTO communications and if necessary, cold-calling, collects payments and provide to PTO Treasurer, organizes ads for the two directories, and provides ads to Directory committee by September 1. There is flexibility when the work begins but spring is preferable.
  • Ridge High School Art Show, June Event
    Chair: Works with Art Department and coordinates volunteers to help Art Department prepare for RHS Art Show in June.
    Committee: Assists chair and helps Art Department prepare for Art Show.
  • Ridge High School Week of Respect: Anti-Bullying Pledge
    Chair: Works with Administration to schedule signing of anti-bullying pledge by students in the fall. Purchase decor and signs. Set up in main lobby on the morning of the event.
    Committee: Assists chair with decorating lobby area and staffs tables during all lunch periods for one week to witness signing of anti-bullying pledge.
  • Senior Dinner
    Co-Chairs: Coordinate a dinner in June for the senior class, including a photo montage of senior students and room/table decorations.
    Committee: Assists chairs with planning, set-up, and clean-up.
  • Wrapping Paper Fundraiser
    Chair: Serves as liaison with Wrapping Paper representative and school. Preparations begin in August.
  • Welcome Desk
    Requires a separate form which must be returned by June 2, 2017 to be included in the lottery.
    Co-Chairs: Coordinate the volunteers at the Welcome Desk.
    Committee: Assists with items dropped off for students to pick up. Involves a once a month, entire school year commitment.
